When you’re going 100km/hour it’s hard to slow down….

I idly was talking to Rob this afternoon about putting in a quasi-floating shelf for the new “office”. Well, when we got home and were done walking the dog and eating supper by 5:30 we decided to give it a whirl.

It turned into “let’s just see the kind of wood that’s available at the store…”

to

“well let’s just get this piece it will probably work.”

to

“let’s install it now!”

to

“let’s put the computer in!”

to

“let’s add the bookcase and hang stuff”

to

“oh! oh! oh! let me grab that little mat”

to

“holy crap it’s a new room in 2 hours.”

The old office/spare room will now have a tonne more space without the big executive desk being in there.

I think we’re both working on our 5th winds.

We were going to white-wash the pine board but Rob likes it how it is and I agree with him. What do you think? It adds a bit of a cottage-y (word?) feel to it.

Okay so maybe I’ll go sleep now.

HA HA! Isn’t that just the way it goes. It’s hard to stop once you start… especially when you’re having such good luck with everything. Most of our projects are halted by some crazy thing that won’t work or a screw that no hardware store carries. You guys kicked some serious …. (you know what)
Everything looks wonderful. Always inspiring you two!
P.S. Man, I just love that color on the walls. FAB!

Haha, I think we’ll have to add another L-Bracker to the one side, but other than that it’ll work! My goal for this room was to make it not just a “hallway” for the patio doors. I wanted to utilize the space as best as possible.

As for the wall colour; I’d like to take credit but it was the previous owners choice!

LOVE the floating shelves. I want a black one.. maybe 1-1/2 to 2ft long … for our dining room. Where did you get yours? Are they pricey? Easy to install? Have they fallen yet? haha…

Hi Meghan; we just bought a piece of pine, some L-brackets and some screws. It has not fallen down and is quite sturdy. Those materials came to $60. We just went to Home Depot! Happy hunting!
