Remember When…

…the basement looked like this?

Well now we’re looking like this…

We still have a bunch of finishing touches like  all the trim and baseboards and artwork on the walls. Rob did a great job on it all and has been working so hard.  Although the photo with the dog doesn’t do the size of the room justice; the room is still half empty. I have some more projects on the go including turning a pool table Rob purchased from maybe not the greatest looking thing to quite possibly THE greatest looking thing. Okay, okay…not THE greatest thing, but you know what I mean.

So things at this homestead sure are motoring along. Next week at this time we will have our patio doors installed. It’s crazy how suddenly everything comes together. I was going to be happy if we got the basement done and patio doors installed by the fall….so we’re ahead of schedule. I now have the urge to find more projects and that makes Rob really happy!

Ha.

Nah, just smaller projects at a much smaller scale.

What do you think of how the colours turned out? I was very worried when we started painting. Very worried. I was ready to go back to the store and get news ones. But, I decided to stick with it until the carpet was in,some of the furniture was down etc…and well I’m quite happy with how it ended up. Just was a bit out of my comfort zone at first.

Looks wonderful! A comfortable cozy place to be. And the brown carpet looks just great. I know you were worried about it… but I like it. Super job. Enjoy your space!

Decorating walls is sometime daunting for me. I think doing your own would be so fun… you should go for it!

Also! I chose a bit lighter for the carpet but still stuck with the darker tones vs my original deep chocolate brown idea. This way should I choose to change paint colours later the bit lighter carpet will be a bit more forgiving a think?
